And Jan Krabec confirms it. “It is a new discipline for us, not to focus on one result, but to do the first race so that we can do the second one and take maximum points.”
RTR Projects will be able to benefit in Dijon in strong competition from the fact that Jan Krabec – then still in a pair with Erik Janiš – tried the track in spring tests. “On the other hand, the conditions were completely different then, rain, wind, cold,” points out Jan Krabec, adding that this time the weather is expected to be hot.

After two races on fast circuits – Monza and the Red Bull Ring – the GT2 European Series teams move to the first truly technical track. According to Krabec, this could be a competitive advantage for the lightweight KTM X-BOW GT2. “Dijon is a bit of a rollercoaster, no straights anywhere, lots of switchbacks. It could suit us, me and the car. But it’s going to be physically challenging to last in the car for an hour each way over two days, and in the heat. It will be different racing, but I’m looking forward to it,” admits the driver.
Tomáš Fanta is counting on the fact that the team will not have to run extreme kilometres on Friday. “We have an advantage from the spring tests, so we need to get going, we think that two tests will be enough,” says the team’s CEO and chief engineer in one person.
Before Dijon, Jan Krabec leads the AM class standings ahead of Austrian Klaus Angerhofer, who starts for the KTM True Racing factory team. The two drivers are separated by four points.
