“We’re continuing with the approach we adopted at the Hungaroring, focusing on giving Pavel as much track time as possible,” explained team manager Tomáš Fanta.
The team can once again expect strong competition in the GTX class. “The Austrian TCM series will also be part of the weekend’s racing. According to the entry list, there will be four or five KTM X-Bow GTX cars on the grid, which will make for some fantastic racing and give us a chance to measure ourselves against rival teams, including Razoon. In addition to preparing our own car, we’ll also be supporting Janík Motorsport, who are entering their new GTX again,” Fanta added.
For Pavel Sovička, the Red Bull Ring will mark his first-ever car racing event at this venue. However, he is no stranger to the circuit, having previously raced motorcycles there. “I have to say, this was one of my favourite tracks on a bike. I’ve also tested here with a Lotus Exige and managed lap times that even the factory Lotus drivers couldn’t beat,” Sovička said, expressing his excitement for the Austrian weekend.
Despite his familiarity with the track, Sovička is aware of its challenges. “It’s a short circuit and easy to learn, but it’s made up of demanding sweeping corners followed by long straights. Every mistake here really counts,” he explained.
The endurance race is scheduled for Saturday evening, with both sprint races set to take place on Sunday.
