“Car production is entirely separate from motorcycle manufacturing—these are fundamentally two distinct activities. The automotive programme operates as a small-scale production venture, generating positive financial results, and the relationship with KTM continues without any disruption,” assures Tomáš Miniberger, Chairman of RTR Projects, the Czech representative of the brand, which also manages a racing team.
Any potential insolvency of the parent company does not impact the car production side. “Our collaboration with KTM is continuing as usual. Customers can still order new cars in both road and racing specifications, and we continue to provide comprehensive support services for their vehicles,” Miniberger confirms.
This year, RTR Projects participated in two championships with KTM X-BOW cars—the Central European ESET CUP and the European GT2 European Series. The team secured one victory and five podium finishes in the GT2 European Series, where they previously claimed the AM class title in 2023. KTM followed up this achievement with a PRO-AM title this year. “The KTM X-BOW consistently proves to be one of the most competitive GT race cars on the market today, across all brands. In the Czech Republic and Slovakia alone, we or our customers operate six racing machines that repeatedly win in circuit and hill climb championships,” Miniberger emphasises.
In 2023, four KTM X-BOW GT-XRs were newly registered in the Czech Republic, with the same number added this year. “The KTM X-BOW GT-XR continues to attract new buyers who appreciate its exceptionally low weight and the remarkable power-to-weight ratio. This characteristic makes the KTM a very distinctive supercar with outstanding driving dynamics and impressively low running costs,” concludes Miniberger. The brand is currently selling off the last units of its initial 100-car special edition, one of which is available in the Czech Republic through RTR Projects.
