Valuable data and further successes: RTR projects well-prepared for upcoming ESET cup races

“We made some adjustments to the car, so I wanted to see which direction we’ve taken,” explained team owner Tomáš Miniberger about his return to the cockpit of the KTM X-Bow GTX after a year-long break.

His first outing of the season in the car left him with positive impressions: “I’m thrilled with the car. It was all about regaining confidence, which isn’t easy during races. However, the car performed exceptionally well, both on dry and wet tracks. My expectations were met, and I’m very satisfied,” he added.

Drivers had to contend with challenging weather conditions throughout the event. Both qualifying and the opening race were held on a wet track. The second race, however, took place on a drying surface, prompting teams to switch to dry-weather tyres.

Despite the unpredictable conditions, Miniberger enjoyed the experience: “I had a good battle with a cup Porsche. While we were faster, overtaking it was still tough. Whenever backmarkers held me up and it pulled ahead, I managed to close the gap within a single lap,” he shared.

The data Miniberger gathered during the event will prove invaluable for RTR projects as the team gears up for the next round of the ESET Cup. Scheduled for August 18-20 at the Slovakiaring, the penultimate event of the season will see some changes in the driver lineup. With Pavel Sovička unavailable due to other commitments, Miniberger is likely to step in alongside Petr Lisa.

Pavlovec’s dominance

It wasn’t just Miniberger who brought success to RTR projects at the Slovakiaring. Sergei Pavlovets also delivered impressive performances. After competing in Most in July with the GTX model, the Belarusian driver returned to the KTM X-Bow RR and dominated the C5 class in both races.

RTR projects’ next appearance in the Hankook Carbonia Cup is set for Monday, September 18, at the Hungarian Pannoniaring, the venue for the penultimate round of the season.
